Introduction:
Resham Gurung is a 68-year-old Nepalese widow living alone in a sub-divided flat in Jordan. She speaks only Nepalese and very basic English, with no knowledge of Cantonese. Recently, struggling with severe insomnia and anxiety, she attempted to seek help at a local integrated mental health community center (ICCMW) with a hospital referral. However, frontline staff refused to provide services, telling her that the center could not assist her unless she brought her own translator. In this simulation, you will interact with Anju, practice patience under language barriers, and demonstrate anti-oppressive practice by offering public translation support.
