Introduction:
Fatima Bibi is a 32-year-old Pakistani Muslim woman who has been living in Hong Kong for several years. Recently, she applied for a dishwasher job at a local Chinese restaurant, hoping to help support her family. However, the restaurant manager refused to hire her unless she agreed to remove her hijab (headscarf) during work, citing hygiene and customer preferences. In this session, you will talk with Fatima to understand the impact of this employment discrimination. Your goal is to support her through a strengths-based approach, address her anxiety, and navigate the systemic barriers she faces.
